Review of the Sennheiser PC 350Review of the Sennheiser PC 350

I use headphones just about everyday to listen to music or watch TV on my PC. I also sometimes use them to play video games, using headphones really creates a 360 degree circle of sound that helps pull you into the games more. Most of my headsets have been your typical or slightly above average Xbox 360 head set, and the quality and sound were merely average to below average.

After spending a couple hours with the Sennheiser PC 350 it quickly became clear why these stunning headphones with a microphone built in cost around $180…yes that is correct $180 for a pair of headsets and a microphone, even the review at thetechinsider said this was alot.

Now while most people would think you’re crazy for buying a pair of headphones with a microphone attached for $180, unless you’re an audio professional, they would be right. But, if you are looking for a very high quality headset with great sound, comfort, durability, and a solid microphone that sounds great, and you are going to keep them for a few years, then the price shouldn’t matter.

You pay for what you get and these headphones do deliver exceptional quality, especially the microphone which I found to be the best yet on any headset I have ever used. If you make a lot of calls from your PC or Skype or do any talking over Yahoo Messenger then you’ll want a microphone like this. The microphone honestly sounds better than my phone, and compared to your average headset microphone the Sennheiser PC 350 stands well above the rest.

Playing Battlefield for the PC with the headset on was a totally immersive experience, clear footsteps could be heard from the oncoming direction they were originating from. The sound quality is also top notch for gaming and obviously listening to someone on Skype or Yahoo Messenger. Being able to communicate without any static on my microphone was also noticeable by the other people I was playing with who told me they could hear me as if I was in the room with them.

The comfort level of the Sennheiser PC 350 is also head and shoulders above the competition can easily be worn for consecutive hours even with glasses on. I will say if you are in a warm room the snug fit of the headphones can cause you to sweat a little, and is small price to pay.

When used to just listen to music the Sennheiser PC 350 also shines, but not as brightly as it did in other areas. A small quibble I had with these headsets for music was the lack of a fuller bass sound; just seem to be off compared to the crystal clear highs, this could of also been a equalization issue on my part. Another small quip is that the microphone isn’t attachable, but if you are buying these headphones you’re probably using the microphone on them or else you should just pick up a high pair of headphones.

I would definitely recommend buying these headphones for any serious gamer, or anyone who makes a lot of PC calls or uses their microphone to talk with people over the PC. If used often and over a few years the cost of these headphones becomes more cost effective and worth the purchase in the long run.
